SIPP Investments
A SIPP ( self-invested pension plan) allows the individual to consolidate their investments and pensions portfolio and “wrap them up” within a SIPP taking advantage of the TAX relief available.
The SIPP allows for a far greater choice of investment choice than a traditional pension scheme, and crucially it allows you to make these choices yourself.
Recent changes in Pension legislation that came into force in 2006 mean it is possible to now include any of the following in your pension:
- Particular stocks and shares quoted on a recognised UK or overseas stock exchange
- Government securities
- Unit trusts
- Investment trusts
- Traded endowment policies
- Deposit accounts with banks and building societies
- National Savings products and commercial property (such as offices, shops or factory premises)
- Alternative Investments - such as Carbon Credits
It must be noted that this list is not exhaustive and is only provided for information and should not be taken as advice. All clients who wish to discuss SIPPs should consult their SIPP provider or Financial Adviser.
